Family Caledonian Canal Expedition

This adventure provides families with an opportunity to experience a canoe journey using most of the Caledonian Canal which links together a series of scottish lochs including the great Loch Ness. This trip starts just outside Fort William on the easy, sheltered water of the Canal and gradually makes its way north & east, aiming to finish on Loch Ness. There will be time available to explore the locks and villages we pass through. The overall pace of the trip will be geared towards the families booked on each trip. Throughout the expedition coaching will be given to help you develop your paddling skills, and sailing rafted canoes may also be appropriate in favourable wind conditions. The expedition hopes to finish near Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness but we realise this end point is variable.

Itinerary
4 days paddling from Corpach to Fort Augutus and Loch Ness.

Accommodation
4 nights camping by the lochside.

Canoeing Standard
This expedition is suitable for those with little canoeing experience as well as experienced paddlers who prefer a guided trip. Please note that there will be some portaging round the locks on canal sections.
