Chasing Light - Adventure Photography Masterclass

A 3 day photography course, focusing on moving through different environments with a camera in Highland Perthshire. The course will explore adventure photography - learning to capture the experience of journeying through the outdoors, and showcasing different environments. Across a range of activities, we will move through the outdoors capturing content along the way. Once back at the base we will review our work. We will then explore editing techniques in post production that reflect our individual perception of where the photo was taken. All guiding, activity equipment and safety will be covered for the duration of the 3 days by a Beyond Adventure guide.

Course Tutor
Oscar stumbled into professional photography in 2012. Through a lifelong passion for bringing back imagery from the outdoors, he has not looked back since turning this passion into a lifestyle. From the mountains of Switzerland to the rivers of New Zealand, whatever the shoot, it always involved movement and bringing back visual representation of adventure in the outdoors.
Since moving back to Aberfeldy in late 2018, Oscar began working the local ambience into his creative work, including teaming up with Beyond Adventure through his company 286 West. It is with this collaboartion that he comes to share the visual playground that is Highland Perthshire.
Masterclass Details
“Half Day Discovery Tour”
Suitable for all abilities and ages 14 +, this 3 day course is fully guided with a professional photographer on hand to tutor and give advice along the way. Based from Aberfeldy, Perthshire we will explore woodlands, hillside, lochs and rivers in a selection of different modes of transport - from ebikes to canoes.
All Equipment for the activites can be supplied at Beyond Adventure.
Please note, cameras and lenses are not supplied.

- Walk up the Birks of Aberfeldy for an introduction to landscape photography
- Short review, & group discussion

- Meet & goal setting
- E-bike up to Glassie Farm
- Landscape photography and introduction to taking panorama and HDR photos
Day 3
- Meet & goal setting
- Canoe river trip
- Best of photo review
- Participant feedback & goodbye
