A fantastic trip fpr paddlers wanting to experience journey on on moving water.

A great opportunity to progress and consolidate your skills.

Includes rapids up to Grade 2/3.

Day 1 Killin and Loch Tay

After arriving in Aberfeldy to pack and get your equipment sorted, you will be transported to the western reaches of Loch Tay. Loch Tay will be your venue for the next 2 days, a beautiful wildcamp on the shoreside beach awaits.

Day 2 Begin the River Tay

Travelling East, you will paddle pass Ben Lawers and its neighbouring mountains. The backdrop is stunning as you approach Kenmore on the Eastern side of Loch Tay. The mouth of the River Tay is situated in this model, historic town. You will camp on an island on the upper reaches of Scotland's largest river.

Day 3 to Grandtully

The upper section of the river is scattered with exhilirating grade 2 rapids. With your guide, you will navigate these waters before camping below Grandtully rapids, a famous grade 3 rapid.

Day 4 to Dunkeld

After Grandtully the river takes on a cruisier pace. Meander with the flow through the river bends taking in the sites of Highland Perthshire. After passing past Dunkeld you will be camping on the river bank.

Day 5 to Stanley

The final day of your descent is stunning as you travel south on the river. After passing the Campsie Linn rapids you will eventually reach Stanley. Here you will be shuttled back to Aberfeldy to shower, unpack and exchange stories over a cuppa!

Beyond Adventure will provide all necessary group equipment including waterproof barrels, camp seats, tents, cooking utensils, maps, group shelters as well as all necessary personal paddling equipment.

Personal Equipment 

3 season sleeping bag

Lightweight sleeping mat or thermarest

Waterproof jacket and trousers

Fleece jacket x2

Warm hat

Sun hat ideally with a peak or brim

Quick drying lightweight trousers x 2

Base layers - thermal tops and bottoms

Tee shirts x2 (thermal fabric - not cotton)

Gloves, wool is still warm when wet

Paddling footwear (could be wellies, trainers or old boots, but make sure comfortable when kneeling)

Camp footwear - sandals, trainers or lightweight boots

1 litre water bottle (minimum)

Sun glasses and sunscreen

Personal first aid including blister kit and insect repellant

Midge net & midge repellant (Scotland in summer)

Light weight wash kit (with biodegradable soap)

A few plastic carrier bags (to separate wet/dry clothes if necessary)

Lightweight towel

Headtorch plus spare battery

Camera

Personal Medication 

You will be able to leave extra clothes worn for travelling in our base whilst we are on expedition.
