Beyond Adventure working with schools and youth groups to provide tailor made programmes of challenging outdoor activities. These can be stand alone days or as part of a residential experience. We work with schools to provide opportunities to enrich the curriculum and to challenge young people as both individuals and as effective contributors within a team.
Based in Highland Perthshire we are able to offer: open canoeing, hill walking, rock climbing, indoor climbing wall, biking, gorge walking, abseiling and team building.
MULTI ACITIVTY OUTDOOR WEEKS
Bringing young people into the outdoors is a key component of the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland.
Learning outdoors encourages young people to:
Develop skills for life as well as skills for learning
Lead a more healthy and active lifestyle
Become more engaged in their own learning
Make connections with the real world and their outside environment
Appreciate the rich stimulus available through all their senses
Develop a sense of community and citizenship in working together with others
Improve their social skills and learn to communicate with their peers effectively
Learn skills to assess risks and consider the benefits of taking risks
Gain confidence and independence so they can make appropriate choices in life
At Beyond Adventure we feel the quality of learning and teaching young people experience is so important. Learning will only happen when the learner feels safe, both physically and mentally. We can offer a quality outdoor experience whilst ensuring young people feel safe so they can make the most of all the opportunities on offer.
Beyond Adventure work with schools to design a programme specific to your needs. To make the most of the activity sessions and enhance the personal learning we can offer reflective and engaging evening sessions or support school staff with this. We would encourage evidence gathering activities such as photo journals, diaries or video recordings.

From walking to canoeing expeditions their friendly staff instil confidence and help the pupils fulfil their goals in what can often be a challenging environment. The Beyond Adventure staff are always helpful, in the planning stages communication is straightforward and the process simple.

Thank you so much for your huge organisation, good humour and fine effort in leading our S5 group safely across some very beautiful , (if wet !), parts of central Scotland. The pupils responded very well to your encouraging style of coaching and they all grew as young people which was the central aim. We really enjoyed the experience from you Mark and the input from Alex which were both spot on. I think they really enjoyed and benefited from the several modes of travel and from the different environments.

Note : These sample programmes are here as a guide only. We are able to offer programmes from a single half day through to a full 7-day week.
In addition, if the activity you particularly wish is not listed, please contact us and we can almost certainly organise it for you. We are flexible in our programme planning to enable time to cover specific outcomes and very much want a dialogue with you about exactly how we would offer this. For example, it may be that whilst canoeing we can investigate the impact of beavers on the River Tay. During a climbing session we can stop to look and record the variety of trees and plant life in Weem Wood.
Everything is possible and we are happy to discuss ideas.
