We have put our thinking caps on and chosen the Top 5 adventures this autumn for you to try.
With the trees beginning to turn as the colder weather sets in, we are reminded that there is nowhere in the UK that we would rather be. Big Tree Country has over 200,00 acres of woodland to explore putting us at the heart of a dazzling display of natural colours. We make no apologies that trees and woodlands feature heavily in the selection!
Adventure #1 - Explore Loch Faskally
If you haven’t explored Loch Faskally you are in for a treat! This Highland Loch is lined by hills and trees, meaning that it not only provides shelter from the wind but has a phenomenal backdrop for adventuring against.
Perfect for canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding every twist and turn of the water provides another stunning view or point of interest.
The second half of October is the perfect time to visit with the lochside seemingly on fire with golden leaves.

Adventure #2 - Ride your Bike!
It is no secret that we love mountain biking at Beyond Adventure.
This year we launched our new Bike Hut beside our Aberfeldy base to give our customers the chance to either hire a bike or get a guided tour around the Upper Tay valley.
There is an amazing array of trails to choose from – ride through forests, over hills or down quiet country roads – truly something for everyone!
For those wanting to hire bikes, we hand out maps so that you can guide yourself to the perfect trail. We have also worked with 9 different companies so that you can take advantage of their discounts Fuel back up on coffee, cake and lunch.
For those wanting to go further afield, why not hire out one of our Ebikes? Going uphill has never been so much fun!
Adventure #3 - Climb a Munro
Perthshire is home to 28 of Scotland’s 282 Munros (a mountain over 3000ft) and they can provide the perfect destination for a days exploring.
Fresh air, spell binding views and a sense of freedom await in the hills of Scotland. Throw in the fascinating local history and the fantastic flora and fauna on display and you have the perfect mix for an adventure that will live long in the memory.
Before heading into the hills, remember to take the correct equipment and check the weather so you know what you can expect on the tops. (MWIS is a fantastic service to use).
Some of the classic hills include –
Schiehallion, situated to the northwest of Aberfeldy is an iconic mountain. Sitting by itself, climbing to the summit can offer unbeatable panoramic views of the Cairngorms, Glen Coe and on a clear day over to Ben Nevis.
Ben Lawers, the 10th highest Munro, lies on the northern shore of Loch Tay. A fantastic day out by itself or can be tackled along with 6 other Munros for a big day out!
The Invervar Munros of Cà rn Gorm, Meall Garbh, Cà rn Mairg and Creag Mhòr are situated in Glen Lyon, Scotland’s longest enclosed glen. Giving a tremendous sense of isolation and wildness you can’t but help imagine you have travelled back in time as you climb the peaks.

Adventure #4 - The Enchanted Forest
For a more low-level adventure why not visit the Enchanted Forest in October?
Taking place every night in Faskally Woods, this unique event has to be seen to be believed.
The already beautiful natural woodland is lit up by all manner of lights, displays and projections. Every corner you turn leads to another breath-taking illumination. The tracks are all well maintained meaning that it is open to all ages and abilities.
Beyond Adventure are in charge of the first aid and water safety provision. Make sure you say hello to us when you see us!
Adventure #5 - Expand Your Skills
As we move into Autumn, Beyond Adventure starts to run all manner of skills and improvement courses. If you have been paddling this summer and want to take your new pastime to the next level, why not come along and learn from us!
